I jumped around in KF books (started like bk3) - never really felt list but ymmv

I don't if I've really read any that I was totally lost by jumping in mid-way - since very few have a single story arc that transcends multiple books

I can see it both ways - if earlier books weren't translated originally/prior to having an international following its a significant investment - but if a book does garner a following (be it a later one) it may be easier to do a multi-language translation

Then there are international publishing rights

i panned an author and still got offers for her next books - i just didn't have time to read - although lots of people who got ARC's panned said book

like they would deny you...

i'm currently listening to Dregs - Jørn Lier Horst - not bad, not awesome either - i seem to notice a lot more redundancy when listening, especially when it comes to the translation

well, let's call it - part way through 2015, what are you reading? hehe

i have scribe, but i just joined and haven't looked for any NN authors yet

sorry, January was an epic fail on the AoTM front - lots of personal stuff going on - but never fear, we are back!

Our February AoTM is none other than Karin Fossum - for many of us she was one of our earlier intros to the genre, and others, she is a new discovery as more of her books are translated to English

so where are you going to start?

It's going to be Karin but Naomi is moving and I've had some stuff going on - will be up today

I can't promise who will be on the list - we will look at your ideas; release dates for reboots etc

Naomi and I will be putting together the list of authors for next year in the next few days, so if you have any last minute additions, please let us know

I don't know about you guys, but by the time December rolls around, I realize that I didn't read as many of the featured author books that I wanted - so, like last year, we decided to designate December as Catch-Up Month.

We did Mari in March 2013 - so she'll be eligible again after March next year

we've had pretty equal male/female representation this year - 5 female/6 male with Dec being a catch-up month
