Hi everyone! It's been almost a year since the last post on this discussion thread. I thought I'd add a new post and share that I just finished re-reading the Vampire Academy Series. I was completely engrossed in these books (even reading while at work) and they are so good. I love Rose & company and I can't wait to continue of some their stories when I start re-reading the Bloodlines series.

I can't wait to read:
!!!I thought An Ember in the Ashes was so great and can't wait to see how the story develops.
ooh, that's a good choice!Anja. wrote: "https://media0.giphy.com/media/yFq2Hg...

"I put my hands on my hips and turned toward him. This seemed to amuse him more. `Adrian, we're focusing on Jill here. This isn't about your personal entertainment.' `Not true,' he said, green eyes sparkling. `Everything's about my personal entertainment. The world is my stage. Keep it up -- you're becoming a star performer in the show.' "

Oh Adrian, if only you knew... haha. I love this part, especially after having read the whole series. It's like I'm in a little secret with Adrian.
I found this for Sydney's name:"Alternatively, the name arose independently in England and is derived from the Old English elements sīd (extensive, wide) and ieg (island in a river, riverside meadow). The name was indicative of one who dwelled on or near the wide, riverside meadow, or from the wide island."
And this for Trey:
"Derived from the Middle English trey (three), which is ultimately from the Latin tres (three). The name was traditionally given to the third-born or the third-born son."
I don't really like the name Trey, but I was curious.
And this for Neil:
"Anglicized form of the Gaelic Niall, which is of disputed meaning. Some believe it is from niadh (a champion); others think it is from néall (a cloud)."
I kind of like the cloud interpretation of the name for some reason, lol.
I completely agree. It would be great to see VA as a tv show and, subsequently, Bloodlines (fingers crossed).
I don't think Declan would become Strigoi because he has spirit in him. That's what prevented Neil from becoming Strigoi thanks to the tattoo. But it would be interesting to see a story from his POV when he's older. Overall, I think TRC was alright. I think it should have been like 500 pages long. I agree that things seem to be resolved rather quickly and conveniently and there are definitely some loose ends left untied.
I expected Trey and Angeline to show up at the St. George raid. It seems a little sad that they weren't there considering they were there almost every other time there was a rescue mission.
I also thought that somehow Christian would have been more included, like he could have gone on the road trip with Rose and Dimitri. He definitely would have been helpful at the Dhampir camp.
Abe was definitely missing for the count. I think it would have been nice for him to show up in Palm Springs, considering he had something to do with why they were all originally there to begin with.
It would have been nice to get an update on Sonya and her work and marriage. And it would have been nice to see some sort of change in the Moroi attitude toward Adrian and Sydney's marriage at court considering they were primarily responsible for finding Jill (although you could also argue that Sydney was semi-responsible for her disappearance since the only reason Jill disappeared is because Alicia was trying to get back at Sydney).
Lastly, I love Eddie.
I've read Bloodlines thru Silver Shadows twice and The Ruby Circle once. I'm still processing how I feel about TRC and it'll probably be a while before I read it again. But that's okay because I own it, unlike the other ones, which I'll hopefully own soon as well. I like rereading books because often times you find new layers to the story that you didn't notice before.
Sebastian Stan could make a good Adrian. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/...

Maybe when Dimitri was turned back into a dhampir, the spirit magic that did it also fixed his reproduction issues (same with Rose when Lissa saved her) and maybe now they can have babies. This is just my theory. I think they're all so young still. I kind of really hope that that isn't the bombshell.A couple possibilities I've been thinking about:
1) maybe Nathan Ivashkov is not Adrian's real dad. If so, I think that maybe Adrian will turn out to be Lissa's half-brother, AKA another Dragomir. Maybe Mr. Dragomir was a spirit user as well. Do any of the books ever mention what type of magic user he was?
2) Sonya and Mikhail can definitely reproduce, so a baby-on-the-way for them would make sense, but I don't know how this would be a bombshell. A surprise maybe, but nothing that would really impact the story in a big way.
I'm so excited for everyone to work together and to have Ms. T back. I missed her in SS. Can't wait!
Yea, Robert and Clarence seem too sensitive to be secretly abusive people. Although, on a separate note, I do think Robert Doru was the one that changed Lee back from being Strigoi.
I thought that in one of the books Dimitri said that he beat his dad up because he used to treat his mom like crap. If I'm remembering correctly, that would mean that he already knows who it is. I think the idea of it being Nathan Ivashkov is interesting, but Dimitri has spent some time at court and has undoubtedly seen and been around him and he would know that Adrian is his half-brother. If it is Nathan, maybe Dimitri has just completely dissociated himself from him. I'm surprised there hasn't been some hint.
Just out of curiosity, do we know for a fact that there are more spirit users in tasarov? I don't remember from reading the VA books if it's ever mentioned. If there are, it will be interesting to see if they play a role in the Strigoi vaccine creation assuming that it'll be a part of TRC.
