59491 I recently read on a website that short stories are being ousted as a popular form of literary entertainment. I don't know how much I believe that or that I even want to.
However, if it is true I want to know why. Is it time restraint?--That makes no sense, they're short. Is there a lack of depth that people find in short stories?--A good short story doesn't have the space to be shallow. What would the reasons be?
In addition, if people are having a hard time with short stories, what about 'short shorts' or flash fiction? Those little guys have a hard enough time as it is.
So I pose the question: Why do you like short stories?
