At TWOS, we love what can happen when a writer lets a few words lead him or her on a new adventure. This site is a writer’s journal, of sorts, which allows writers to post their short stories inspired by weekly prompts. Three random words provided each week are what drive the story telling.

Blogosaurus Rex sprang to life when a man in a white suit discovered ancient amber with HTML embedded inside. He extracted it,mixed it with Frogger code, and incubated the result inside a Linux kernel. Blogosaurus Rex roamed the Internets for years before settling in to manage the Three Words, One Story website. Using his natural blogatory instincts, he tweaks code, hunts typos, posts stories, and generates the Friday Prompts. He also periodically holds the entire site hostage until he is fed. The Chief Annoyance Officer’s (CAO) first assignment was to a squad of six in the low rank of Minor Nuisance. His natural talent quickly propelled him through the ranks of Major Nuisance, Aggravator 2nd and 1st Class, and Severe Irritator, all within the first decade of his career. His knack for hanging on to small details with a zombie-like death grip made him perfect for the rank he now holds at TWOS. The CAO oversees a large portion of the content editing and is quick to reject anything that rivals his powers of agitation. His hopes now lie in a promotion to the rank of Master Annoyance Officer. The Internet-Challenged Cheerleader first encountered the World Wide Web back when AOL charged per minute. The harsh sound of the 28k modem instilled a deep-seated sense of trepidation in the Cheerleader for all things dial-up. The gap widened between the Cheerleader and technology as cable and DSL became available. The team at TWOS helped the Cheerleader overcome this fear with a regimen of name-calling and showing him the joys of online music. During times of relapse and great anxiety, the Cheerleader has been known to wipe out entire colonies of voles, gophers, ants, and spiders. Rumor has it, after a close encounter with a smartphone posting on Twitter, the Cheerleader single-handedly eliminated an infestation of bed bugs.
