I just reread the Homecoming series by Orson Scott Card.

The premise was interesting, fairly original, but I kinda hated it. I'm left feeling somewhat pissed at the ending.

Michael_SMT has been booted and banned. It is a seller trying to get people to review their product.

That is "incentivitized reviewing" and is against Amz's rules, for everyone, not just Viners. Thousands and thousands of people have been entirely purged from Amz for doing it.

The sellers know this and don't care. You are not an "influencer" (which is just a trendy name for salesperson) and most certainly are not a Viner, no matter what they tell you. You are being used to trick other customers into buying substandard product.

Oh neat! I find it disturbing that I'm in the 99th percentile. I had a very slow year for books, last year. A lot of illness, deaths, depression, and the start of our new home building project really clobbered my time/desire to read much, and still apparently I read more than most.

I was heavy sci-fi last year, too.

I'm trying to get through an oldie - The Mote in God's Eye by Niven and Pournelle.

Not that there's a problem, just that I got interrupted binge-watching Fear the Walking Dead to try to catch up for the final season.

We had stopped watching it quite some time ago because it just ain't all that, but I'd like to see the final season heh.

I did see that one but the official list of his book titles has "the" on it, so I went for the LDP one. Even tho I haven't seen him in it yet hehehe, but so far it's pretty bad.

I found a few of the video adaptations. The Dark Winds is first but it's with Lou Diamond Philips and I'm not much of a fan. Gonna watch it anyway ;)

(I didn't happen to have any of those authors you mentioned in ebook so went looking for the video)

I hate to be petty but I'm kind of hoping the #1 badges are gone as well. They were permanent, previously, but they were almost all cheaters.

Yeah. It's been pretty meaningless since 2016 but Amz seems determined to wipe out all the community aspects that they spent so much effort building, back then.

The Top 100 (/500,etc.) badges are still there but have to wonder for how long
