"I am relaxed," Jinsoo retorted defensively, raising his chin just the slightest bit. He glanced at Carly when she sat up. Personally he wasn't really concerned with the time nor how late it is; he'd made it to the dorm on tight curfews before and he could do it again. However, he didn't wish to hold Carly back so he nodded and sat up as well, gathering his bag before standing up. He slung it onto one shoulder, holding out a hand to Carly to help her up. "See you next week, then."

Jinsoo wasted no time snatching a menu and beginning to scan it thoroughly, his mood suddenly brightening. So much so in fact, that he was even quietly humming a little tune. Evidently, he was hungry and happy to be fed. He'd been playing it cool earlier but the promise of food was a welcoming one now that all the options were before him.
He seemed to realize soon that he was humming loud enough for Abner to hear (he hadn't quite realized he'd been doing it previously) and instantly silenced himself. He switched up his whole aura as well, as if he'd never been doing it from the start. A very quick change. He decided on what he wanted to order before setting the menu down and fixing his gaze on Abner, blankly waiting for him to finish as well.

Em shakes his head regretfully. "Unfortunately, not for sure. I've heard strigois are a result of troubled souls. Maybe that's why; I worry a lot," he admitted aloud, though stopped there for good measure. The past wasn't exactly something pleasant to bring up. He didn't want to ruin the mood with such a story. Some things were best left untold was his main thought process.

Jinsoo didn't comment on this revelation, nor did he attempt to reply with his own species, as would probably be expected in the situation. He did follow suit behind Abner into the cafe though, even somewhat cheerfully, since his facial features weren't fixed into a blank stare and there was the smallest trace of a bounce in his steps. He let Abner pick where they would sit, and was they'd found a place, slid into the seat opposite Abner.

"I'm kind of a prick, but even I'm not bad at enough to completely mistreat an actual good person." Jinsoo mumbled mildly. His eyes visibly widened when Carly suddenly thanked him, ad his expression hen he turned towards her was one of obvious awe. That didn't happen often, people thanking him for being the way he was. It was so uncommon that Jinsoo was caught off guard, unsure how he was meant to reply. He avoided looking at her when he mumbled out yet another response, tinged with uncertainty. "I didn't really do anything but.. you're welcome, I guess?"

Em offered a small smile at Carson's response, both relieved and grateful for his lack of shock or distaste, as he'd been worrying he would have. It wasn't everyday one came across an undead, yet Carson's voice was completely nonjudgmental and for that, Em was appreciative.
"That's true, without a doubt," he agreed, some interest sparking in him after Carson's remark. "What's keeping you here, Coach Carson?" He asked on spur of the moment. An intrusive question, he knew, but he wouldn't force Carson to answer.

"No, you're right," Jinsoo opposed. "Arguing constantly won't get you anywhere. Communication's important, too." He turned to look at her while she went on to speak, opening up almost as soon as she'd stopped. "I doubt I'd ever be able to get mad at you," he said immediately. "I've never once gotten mad or upset at you, ever since meeting you. I don't think you'd be able to do anything to make me want to shout at you anyways, you're too good for that."

Em listened to Carson explain himself attentively, taking in every word with strong engagement. When Carson had paused, Em was quiet for a few times, considering everything again, as well as his thoughts on it. "I don't know you, but, you don''t seem evil or like a monster to me. You're pretty nice, to me, at least," he opined truthfully. "I can see why you're the track coach, if you're so well known for your speed."
When Carson probed at the subject of Em's species, Em hesitated, tension building up in him. It wasn't that he didn't trust Carson; actually, he felt he could trust Carson with just about anything, considering how easily the coach had trusted him and openly accepted him into his team. However, he was very insecure about what he was. In his opinion, he wasn't supposed to be here. He was supposed to have disappeared months ago. Yet, here he was, in flesh and bone.
"I'm.. a kind of ghost, I guess you could say," he began nervously. "A strigoi is the more sophisticated name for it. They're.. spirits of the dead that have come back to life, as far as I've heard.." he trailed off, looking away, evidently far too uneasy to say anything more.

Jinsoo watched Abner with a steady gaze when he suddenly growled at him and lowered his voice, clear signs of indignation to Jinsoo. Not that he was particularly surprised. He could see how Abner could take offence to his metaphor. "... I didn't call you one. I compared your capability to smell your way around to one," he murmured, unsure why he felt the need to make a better impression of himself for Abner, but found himself doing so anyways. He assumed lunch wouldn't be very enjoyable if Abner already hated him. Plus, Abner was a bit intimidating, he couldn't lie. Jinsoo doubted it'd be a good idea for himself to make an enemy out of him.

Em could only give a sheepish grin when Carson commented on the oddness of the question. He had been blunt, he would profess, but he was quite curious to learn an answer. He wasn't familiar with an awful lot of species, but the few he did know had always been a fascinating topic in his opinion.
Em waited patiently while Carson seemed to be thinking up an answer. He wouldn't be surprised if he didn't receive one, he was being a bit nosy, after all, but he felt he would get one from Carson. He was clearly considering it, after all.
When Carson eventually replied, Em nodded in apparent understanding. "I don't have the slightest idea what that is, but sounds cool," he confessed brightly, a smile on his lips.

Jinsoo stared at her thoughtfully while she explained her feelings about the matter at hand, and when she'd finished, nodded once as if accepting it. "I get your point. I suppose you're right. Though I don't think a little argument here or there will hurt anyone. But communication is probably the better answer." He agreed solemnly. He glanced at her curiously. "I don't suppose you've gotten in much arguments before. You seem more the peacemaker sort. Complete opposite of me," he acknowledged honestly, turning away.

Em seemed persuaded, for he no longer held a look for concern on his face (in fact, he appeared amazed by Carson's stength), however, Carson's slight hints about his past had perked Em's curiosity. He wanted to ask what he could have possibly gone through that was "more than any man or creature could be put through", but figured neither were close enough to each other to be questioning each other's history. Or Em felt that way at the very least.
He smiled at Carson. "That's pretty impressive," he admitted. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you?"

Jinsoo rolled his eyes with dramatic effect. "Well no duh, I meant it's a strange and mysterious combination." He explained himself. Jinsoo raises an eyebrow questionably when Abner clarified his methods for finding his way around. "You
smell your way around?" He inquired incredulously, astonished. "What are you, a dog?"

"I don't always argue," Jinsoo pointed out in his defense. "Only when I disagree with something. Or when I'm in the mood to argue. Otherwise, I'm usually remarkably agreeable. Try me on any day that doesn't end with y," He paused, his confident smile slowly fading before he carried on. "I don't think it's smart to desire someone you'll
never argue with. Everybody's different, no two people are the same. You can't actually expect to agree with someone on everything, that's just naïve thinking. Arguments aren't always bad. They can help you learn about the other person too. If you resolve it, your bond grows. Soon, nothing can break the two apart. Besides that, I doubt many people could handle me at my worst. Even I probably couldn't. But point is, they're not always a bad thing."

Em stared at Carson in shock for a few, silent moments, his mouth hanging open in awe. Eventually he forced the amazement from his expression and stared at Carson with something akin to exasperation and defeat. "How can you be so lacklustre about your safety? Doesn't the thought scare or worry you?" He questioned, his voice rising slightly to resemble a whine. Surely he couldn't be the only one concerned about Carson's safety here. At least, he liked to think he wasn't.

Jinsoo follows behind him obediantly, shoving his hands into his pants' pockets. He raises an eyebrow at Abner as they walk, clearly confused. "You can find your way to a cafe on a road but not shops in a shopping district?" He let out a sigh, mumbling aloud. "How does that even work? You're a mystery."

Jinsoo was kind of astonished when she commented on his growth, mostly because he hadn't noticed much change. But then again Carly probably would notice more changes in him than he himself, so he supposed she was likely right. He wasn't fond of change, since he often worried he would change for the worst, but as Carly hadn't complained, perhaps it had been for the better this time around.
Jinsoo raised an eyebrow -quite high up, too- questionably at Carly when she continued on to mention what he assumed were dating problems, thoroughly unconvinced. "I've never come close to dating even once in all 17 years of my life. Plus I'm moody, hot tempered, lanky and unkind. I'm no expert on romance but I'm pretty sure those aren't exactly endearing qualities. I'll admit I'm cute as hell, but I doubt that'll make someone tempted enough to put up with me. So, don't worry about me," he assured her confidently. "You're more likely to have those kinds of troubles, worry about yourself instead," he advised.

Jinsoo rolled his eyes with dramatic effect. "I didn't even do that much. You probably would've found your way eventually, with or without me." Jinsoo was not normally keen on holding debts. He would probably feel indebted to Abner if he did allow him to buy him lunch, since he would feel the need to pay him back. Jinsoo made it a habit to manipulate people, but he had his morals. And repaying his debts was one of them. Though, Abner saw it differently. He would think buying him lunch would make them equal. A favor for a favor. Maybe Jinsoo would benefit in adopting that sort of mentality as well.
"... fine. Just this once," he mumbled at last, still evading Abner's gaze.

Em seemed persuaded enough that he could stay out late since it was only one class he was teaching, but not so much when it came to the topic of sleep. "But if you sleep out here, anyone and anything can easily get to you, you'll have your guard down. What if you get attacked or something while you're asleep?" He repined, his expression fixed into one of incredulous concern.

Em tilted his head to the side, nodding as he took in his words. "What about classes and all that? Don't you have to be up early for them? Plus it's dangerous to be out alone at night," he fussed a little, not meaning to sound as such, only to express some concern. It was school grounds that Carson was on so perhaps he didn't need to and was worrying over nothing. It wouldn't be the first time.
