I was happy to have conquered the 12 miles on Pike's Peak in May and decided to keep on going to the top of Mount Blanc. I've made it up 2 miles as of the checkpoint of June 30, for a total of 14 books from my TBR pile. I took a month off to work on genealogy and now I'm back to reading. A little concerned about my progress now but hope to catch up!What has been your most difficult read so far. And why? (Length? Subject matter? Difficult style? Out of your comfort zone reading?)
My most difficult read so far was Little, Big because it really wrenched my emotions.
Which book (read so far) has been on your TBR mountain the longest? Was it worth the wait?
Still the winner, The Metamorphosis, on my TBR pile since February 2003. I kept putting it off because I thought it would be hard to read but it wasn't. It turned out to be a pretty good story too.
My fifteenth read is Little, Big. This book had me so emotionally connected I had tears at the end of reading it. Please read my review here: http://realbooks4ever.tumblr.com/post...
My fourteenth read is The Adversary: A True Story of Monstrous Deception. Please read my review here: http://realbooks4ever.tumblr.com/post...
My thirteenth read is Finn Family Moomintroll. Please read my review here: http://realbooks4ever.tumblr.com/post...
Susan and Dawn: Thank you very much! I usually, but not always, pick my next read just by whatever sounds good at the time while I look over the books on my shelves. Sometimes its to participate in a read-along. The books are originally purchased because they match something in my wiiiiide range of interests!
I did it! I'm at the top of the mountain! What's that? There's another mountain over yonder? Mount Blanc? Aw heck, I can take it, WATCH ME!My twelfth and final read on Pike's Peak is The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Vol. 2 by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill. Please read my review here: http://realbooks4ever.tumblr.com/post...
My eleventh Mount TBR read is Moyasimon: Tales of Agriculture, Volume 2 by Masayuki Ishakawa. One more book to go!
My tenth Mount TBR read is Little Fuzzy by H. Beam Piper. My review is here: http://realbooks4ever.tumblr.com/post.... I'm almost to the top of Pike's Peak!
My ninth Mount TBR read is Feed by Mira Grant. My review is here: http://realbooks4ever.tumblr.com/post...
