I'm not sure if a setting was changed with the recent updates or what the situation is, but no one can message any of you."So sorry - I was totally unaware of this and will see if I can sort it out! I've not been getting notifications for the group for a while, too, so maybe the problems are linked?
Thank you, Dorie, things are definitely looking brighter now (thank goodness). Like you, I don't seem to be receiving notifications like we used to so it is harder to keep up with everyone. Take care of yourself and thank you for always being so supportive, it is much appreciated!
There is a section within this group entitled "Authors"The top post in that is the guidance you're looking for.
Feel free to message me if you have any further problems.

Thought I'd just post a quick note to apologise for being missing for a while - life (and death) got in the way!It started when I slipped and broke my ankle, needing it pinning and plating . . .
Then, just a couple of weeks later, my previously relatively independent Mum fell, breaking her femur, also needing operating on. She had a prolonged stay in hospital then was moved into a care home for end of life care.
Mum unfortunately died and, as an only child, I've been busy sorting everything out.
Now for the great news, my daughter and her husband have just had their first child, a little girl who couldn't wait to be born! Hopefully I'll be around a lot more now things are settling down again and I no longer need a frame to walk! Hope you're all having less dramatic times and keeping well!
We're continuing to grow - with 6046 members now! So sorry I've been missing in action lately - the explanation is in the Chit Chat thread. Welcome to everyone who has joined and huge thanks to everyone who continues to help keep this group going! Thank you!
I've closed the earlier version of this thread as it was getting too long....Here's a game we could play when people are bored, just respond with a word that pops into your head when you read the previous one. The only rule is that you can't respond to yourself, so at least two people have to play!
Paris posted the last word in that thread, so please continue on starting with....
Power....
My latest review rejection was for something I'd purchased from them - and it wasn't a book! I was advised by a publisher not to name them as the source of a book, I now put a generic ending to such book reviews: "For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review."
(My book reviews are usually in rhyme, with these as the last two lines)

I have archived but left accessible the earlier version of this topic but it was getting too long so, for the New Year, though we needed a new start! I look forward to discovering your recommendations!
Happy 2024 to all 5115 members of our group! Many thanks to everyone for your continued support for each other. Here's hoping we all find time to read and enjoy more brilliant books in 2024!

But thanks for your moral support, Kristine!
"
Not sure if you're upset by Goodreads itself or by me starting new threads, as requested by several members of the group. If it is me, please let me know how I can help! We like to be friendly and approachable, so if it is something I'm doing, sorry!
Angie F wrote: "So proud of myself. I just got my 500 reviews badge as well as having a percentage of 82. Not bad considering I only joined Netgalley 4 years ago. Now to get my reading challenge up to date, I'm 3 ..."Congratulations, Angie!
Lynn wrote: "Elaine, I don't know where you posted exactly (see below), but I got the link in my notifications so I'm answering. There is an active thread several pages long on this topic--the most recent post ..."HI Lynn, I know there's an active thread for this and that it is several pages long . . . so long in fact that I've locked it to further posts and started this one to replace it, making it easier for everyone to find new posts. The original thread is still also in The Chit Chat, like this one, and I won't archive it for a month or so.
Christy started this thread originally, introducing it:Does anyone else enjoy watching movies at all? I'm an occasional movie watcher. I thought it would be fun to post what the most recent movie you saw was (no matter when it was released) and how you'd rate it out of 10!
I'll be interested in your viewing, too!
The original post for this was getting too large so I've closed it to further comments but left it in this folder so you can still check out earlier responses and add new ones to this thread instead!
The original post for Instagram links is getting huge so I've started this one but am leaving the original one here to enable you to look up the earlier posts should you wish to do so . . . . Happy sharing!
Huge thanks to the librarians who are adding books to Goodreads and sorting out problems! I've started this new thread to enable them to have a more manageable number of posts to look through!
