How are you guys? It's been a while! I'm not as active as before in any group discussions, but I'm always on twitter. I made a new twitter account for books (@ailsmncs) and I'm posting my TRC theories using the #trcnotes hashtag:
Feel free to join :D Also, Renee, that's a good idea (trc reread) Count me in!
PS. I'm currently working on the BLLB book trailer but I'm having a hard time finding the best bg music. I'll appreciate any clips/music suggestions :D
Rene and I have already discussed this on twitter, but I think it's worth sharing here (this is about Maggie's unofficial TRK *Ganesh* spoiler post). We think "The once and future Gansey" refers to the CURRENT Gansey we've all come to know, and the FUTURE Gansey in The Raven King who, based on the spoiler, smiles savagely and appears to be a wilder version of himself. Perhaps much wilder than Gansey-on-fire in TDT. Is it possible that he's possessed in the spoiler? Possessed by Glendower? Arthur? Or Noah?Second theory, I've just thought about this earlier; There will be a Gansey-on-fire part 2 in TRK because Gansey will find out that he's on the death list. Either he's going to feel betrayed because Blue and the others had kept it from him for so long, or feel resigned and heedless because hey, he's going to die in less than 5 months! Tyaran!!! Hence, the Gansey-smiling-savagely and the Gansey-on-fire in the TRK spoiler.
PS Another clue: Blue said "Where have you been?" I think maybe Gansey had been missing since the time he found out about his impending death. He probably walked out or something.
This is random but what if Henry Cheng could take things from his dreams, too, like Ronan and Kavinsky?

Renée wrote: "oooooohhh!!!!! *turns on literature student analysis brain mode* Well if the lilies are a symbol of Blue and her ability to amplify things which is also why blue is the colour of her aura, maybe i..."Really possible!! I'm confused, though, is Aurora the biological mom of Ronan? Is Ronan a product of a human + a dream person? Because that'd explain a lot of things about him. He's not entirely a dream person like Aurora, neither is he a normal human being. He's half-human half-dream. (?)
Renée wrote: "The third sleeper to me: (image)"Plus black smoke/oil around its body. Maggie reblogged two photos before, it's like a black monster or a black smoke taking shape of a person (LOL I'm not sure, I can't explain it) I want to post it here but I can't find it!!
Out of topic but what do you guys think of this "Niall’s face was smeared with blood and blue petals. “I was just dreaming of the day you we born, Ronan.”Whatzzzz the meaning.
Renée wrote: "also, just stating the obvious here. But what if Blue's curse and the Ley Lines/Glendower are related? I don't know how but I was reminded by the heart shape in the not-so-final-cover."
I think so, too! Like "ley lines - kiss curse - blue's fondness of trees - gansey's death" related!
What if the small, black, oily non-human thing is related to Ronan's night horrors? They're also not human (raven monster?) and black and clothed in something greasy. The only difference is they're bigger + have two legs.
Elif, that's why I'm so confused.. What's that non-human thing?! I'm quite sure that the blood thing did something to the tomb or the third sleeper, but I'm not sure if it managed to wake it up. I don't think Neeve and Piper are getting the favor, though. Neeve said that they have to do it at the same time but Piper cut her off and woke it up herself.
Renee, I don't know. :( Maybe it's not because the door could only be opened by magic, but because Artemus was shot and he (or the third sleeper) took advantage of his situation, or like what you said, the magic drew his blood into the tomb. Maybe it's easier to manipulate blood than to manipulate a person to walk toward the door and open it. It's also very convenient because everyone would be too dumbstruck to stop Artemus, which exactly what happened. Omg I'm sorry about posting too much quotes HAHA! I have a hard time expressing myself, and the quotes sort of help organizing my thoughts (and I have the digital copy so it's so easy to find keywords by using search) I hope it's ok! Love you all, too!
Julia, thank you! I missed that part!!Renee, it seemed like Artemus used his blood (blood magic?) to open the door. What if he also used his blood to wake the third sleeper? Like it went through the knob or something. HAHAHA ok, I maybe overanalyzing this part, but I can't help it!
What about this guys? (Chapter 50)“Artemus blinked, which was notable because he hadn’t really been blinking before. His shoulder was bleeding in a way that seemed like he might have been shot. Every time he dripped on the cave floor, the blood ran together and trickled through the fallen rock toward the red door.
Uphill.
They all stopped to watch it.
Piper’s gaze followed it all the way to the door, and to the handle, and her bubble-gum pink lips parted.”
Then Artemus did something that made Piper's ghost light collide with her gun. It went dark and they all stood in darkness (SOMETHING MUST HAVE HAPPENED IN THE DARK). Maybe that's why the coffin's lid was ajar when Piper and Neeve came back. Maybe the non-human thing was the third sleeper's pet dog? I don't know guys. Help?
Renee, I know right? Adam was so creepy in the last chapter!! I don't know if it's just a foreshadowing of what's gonna happen to him in the last book or if he's already possessed! I keep coming back to the chapter where he was so close to holding the door knob of the third sleeper's door (scrying part). I'm so CONFUSED!
When I first read "the man and the dog" the first thought that came into my mind was "Omg, Malory and the Dog?!" Haha! Your theory makes more sense! Magicians have the power to shapeshift (ex. Merlin) so maybe it's the same person! Is it also possible that it's a man-dog creature? Like half human-half dog?
Julia, I can't find the "Blue was awake" part, (I have the kindle edition) are you referring to "Blue woke up angry" on chapter 26? And you're right, maybe Adam's connected to the person who betrayed Glendower! It was Glendower's cousin, Hywel.
OH MY GOD GUYS THE EVIL MASK IS THE THIRD SLEEPER!
OR THE OWNER OF IT! Look at Maggie's tarot cards! Adam said the 1st and 2nd sleepers are The Empress (Cabeswater?) and Death (Glendower? King Arthur?) and the third one is The Devil. Look at The Devil card! It matches the mask's description in the book!!
Omg. NOW I really have a bad feeling about this. Ronan dreamed of the mask possessing Adam and in the end chapter of BLLB, it says "Adam Parrish was awake," "He wasn't sure he had known what awake really felt like until now," "He sort of liked to believe that the third sleeper had been him," and it ended with his words: "No. I'm awake." Then epilogue. What the hell?
Elif, ohh that's possible! I wonder what would Glendower wish for if he gets a favor... I'm still not sure if he's a good/bad guy.
