"On page 6, "Carmilla", by Sheridan Le Fanu (1872) and "A True Story of a Vampire", by Eric, Count Stenbock (1894) were next. I've read Carmilla many, many times, so I'll just say that I love the story. "A True Story of a Vampire" is an account of desire between a vampire, Count Vardalek, and his victim, a twelve-year old boy named Gabriel and how that desire destroyed the family of a young girl, the narrator Carmela Wronski." — Nov 01, 2026 07:01AM
