2021-2022 LYRC 6-8 Committee

[close] 1. This list is intended for students in the 6th-8th grades. Nominated titles should be reflective of that reading level.
2. Titles must be published in the United States in 2019. (Titles previously published in another country are okay.)
3. Titles must be standalone, first in a series, or a companion book able to be read independently.
4. Considerations include overall literary quality, effectiveness of expression, creativity, imagination, reading enjoyment, reading level, interest level, genre representation, racial diversity, diversity of social/political/economic/religious viewpoints, and availability.
5. Committee members are expected to remain respectful during discussions. Opinions may differ, especially when it comes to controversial topics, but everyone will remain polite and give each member the chance to voice his/her/their opinions. Also, because these are online conversations which lack tone and inflection, let's give one another the benefit of the doubt before taking something personally.
