The ALA Student Chapter invites you to attend a special networking event with librarians in the field on Wednesday, October 25th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Pacific Time! This is an opportunity to meet with working professionals to make connections, ask questions, and benefit from their advice. As MLIS graduates, they can offer a unique perspective on how to apply LIS skills in your career development. The ALA Student Chapter invites you to attend a special networking event with librarians in the field on Wednesday, October 25th, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Pacific Time! This is an opportunity to meet with working professionals to make connections, ask questions, and benefit from their advice. Join us for conversation with Rebecca Nowicki of San Diego State University, Angie Miraflor of King County Library System, Sarah Edwards Obenauf of New Mexico State Library, Patricia Rivera of Los Angeles County Library, and Erika Quintana of the University of California Riverside. As MLIS graduates, they can offer a unique perspective on how to apply LIS skills in your career development. On behalf of the American Library Association (ALA), we ask you to consider contacting your local representatives in Congress and the House of Representatives to request their support for the Right to Read Act. The Right to Read Act is designed to ensure all students, including low-income and minority students, children with disabilities, and English language learners, have access to an effective school library staffed by a certified school librarian. Attendees will also have the chance to receive a custom-designed tote bag, designed by ALASC Events & Social Media Assistant Cat Tang and courtesy of SJSU Associated Students.
