North America has been unable to maintain itself. It was destroyed by hurricanes, thunderstorms, politic beliefs, religious beliefs, and of course, by its own people. Then, out of the ashes, a new world was formed. The nation of Panem.
Several years after, the districts formed a rebellion against their over powerful capitol. The districts lost. As penance, the capitol created a game like no other, the Hunger Games.
