Public Domain Fiction

[close] 1. Unless otherwise stated in your post, the books should be those that are public domain in the United States.
2. Don't trust that books are public domain just because people say they are. Do your own research.
3. Book club books are encouraged to be freely available online (such that all members of this group in your country may participate). This idea is the inspiration for the group's creation; however, you're free to do other books, too (it's just very nice if all can participate). Giving priority to books that are public domain in more than one country is also encouraged (though again, not required).
4. Keep discussions clean.
5. Book club books should be uplifting, edifying, clean, and family friendly (at least in your own opinion). If you feel your book does not meet this criteria, please have the event description express any concerns families might have (for instance, if it's dystopian, or really depressing, please say so).
