Gigi Fuck yeah, Lost Won! I know it's early, but it really knocked me on my ass.

Frat House Troopers too, December 18. Loved that book...

Mandapanda Val and Reggie. Sorry but it's better to keep it 2013 only. It's always been that way in all the previous yearly lists. Too confusing otherwise. Why don't you add the books you mentioned to the 2012 list. I'd be happy to add my vote to bring them up the list a bit. :)

this is the 2012 list: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/15...

message 4: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda @ Stephanie who voted for Hidden Away. I agree with you it's an excellent book but unfortunately published in 2012. You can go to the 2012 list to vote. It was at about number 301 last I looked: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/15...

message 5: by Zeh (last edited Jan 27, 2013 09:16PM) (new)

Zeh I have read about 1/3 of the books on this list as of Jan 27th. Adding Greenwode & The Strength of the Pack. For me, those two were the most memorable reads of January.

message 6: by Dacia (new)

Dacia Don't.. by Jack Pyke which is on the list was actually published in December of 2012, so it ought not to be on this list

message 7: by Icedave (new)

Icedave Should not be listed here:
* Silver/Steel, published December 4th 2012
* Love Bites: A Feral Hearts Tale, published July 7th 2012
* Don't..., published December 13th 2012

message 8: by Mandapanda (last edited Jan 31, 2013 09:57PM) (new)

Mandapanda Thanks Icedave and Dacia! I've put them on the 2012 list except for Don't... which I haven't read yet. You can add your votes for them by clicking on the following link: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/15...

message 10: by Zeh (new)

Zeh Are we allow to vote books that has not been published yet?! We know they will likely be out this year, but I don't think they should be on this list until we all can get the chance to read them.

message 11: by Dacia (last edited Feb 03, 2013 12:41PM) (new)

Dacia I agree. Who knows when Not So Innocent and Shatterproof will actually come out. I'm hoping for soon but they certainly aren't available yet

message 12: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda I can't wait for Not So Innocent either! It's taking for-EVAH!!! lol. But I agree with you Zeh. Better to wait and see if you like a book before you put it on the list. It seems more honest that way.

message 13: by Zeh (new)

Zeh Although not your traditional m/m romance, I thought The Place Where They Cried was engaging and heartfelt for the first few of my February reads.

message 14: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda I love Rose Christo's books SO MUCH! The Gives Light books are in the Best M/M Romance of 2012 list if you want to add your votes. I read your review of The Place Where They Cried. (view spoiler)

message 15: by Zeh (last edited Feb 07, 2013 08:28AM) (new)

Zeh @Mandy The book is a bit longer for your usual m/m books but (view spoiler)Now that you mention the Gives Light series, I think this book is the history of those who lives on the Nettlebush Reservation! I've only read the first book of that series, I will be going back for the next three.

message 16: by Enny (new)

Enny Jennifer Wright voted for her own book plus one other person who read just two books - both by Jennifer Wright *rolls eyes

I personally find that kind of behavior very tacky. Way to make sure I'll never read one of her books.

message 17: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda Yes it is tacky. You can be sure that books voted on by their authors are always bad too.

message 18: by Enny (new)

Enny I just checked and that woman - and nobody else - voted for her stupid books on 12 different lists. She also added her other book which was published in 2012 to this list. Apparently she doesn't even bother to read the titles. I've now removed that one.

message 19: by Dacia (new)

Dacia Starfish and Coffee came out in October 2012 so probably shouldn't be on this list

message 20: by Mandapanda (new)

Mandapanda Thanks. :)

Hi, Enny. How do you feel about authors who vote for their books after they've been placed on the list by a reader? I apologize for the question but I'm relatively new to having novels here on Goodreads. I don't want to do anything that would offend a reader so your opinion would be extremely valuable to me. :D

message 24: by Enny (last edited Mar 24, 2013 03:05AM) (new)

Enny A.F., this is just my personal opinion but I think authors should neither vote for their books nor rate them. Of course author rightly think that their book is wonderful (otherwise they shouldn't publish it) but if the book really is good, it'll find its audience and votes on its own. Voting for your book might come across as a bit desperate although many successful authors do it.

What got me really upset was the fact that this author voted for her books on a lot of lists regardless of whether the books even belonged there and now there's another vote for it by an account which hasn't got any books by other authors on their list and also placed them on a lot of lists. That kind of behavior is are highly questionable IMO.

Ami @A.F. : I came across this when I was scrolling Enny's update. In my very humble opinion, don't you ever, EVER vote for your own book nor rate them. Not in a place for readers, like Goodreads. You are most welcome to 'add your book' to your own shelf, with title like "I wrote this". But don't rate it, review it, vote for it, in any way. Like Enny said, it will come a bit desperate for attention ... and well, truthfully, general readers don't really like that :).

If READERS vote for your books that is awesome. That means they love it. But doing it by yourself, it will make it look like you put a big sign that said "PICK ME, PICK ME, LOVE ME, LOVE ME"

xoxo

KindleRomance Reviews Does anybody know if there is a way to export this list? Would love to have it when I go shopping!

message 31: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Eeh NO 1 Captive prince has listed this pub date as you click on it:

Published May 22nd 2012 ???

message 32: by Zeh (new)

Zeh @Ingrid

Might need a Librarian to update the incorrect info. As far as I know, Captive Prince was a free read (and still is) that the author posted on her Livejournal. Probably by popular demand, she got it published recently in Feb 2013.

http://www.amazon.com/Captive-Prince-...

message 33: by Enny (new)

Enny I've changed the publication dates for the Captive Prince books and for Social Skills to 2013 since that's when they were officially published.

I've also removed Don't... Not His Kiss to Take and Skybound since they were all published in 2012.

I'd love to be able to export and sort these listopia lists by average rating or number of pages but it doesn't look like it's possible. It might help to post a message in the Goodreads Feedback Group where GR members are encouraged to make suggestions: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1...

Charming A.F. wrote: "Hi, Enny. How do you feel about authors who vote for their books after they've been placed on the list by a reader?"

I don't mind this as long as they vote for other books on the list too. I want them to be readers as well, and not just writers.

Mandapanda Charming wrote: "I don't mind this as long as they vote for other books on the list too. I want them to be readers as well, and not just writers. ..."

As long as it's genuine voting. Sometimes they have little groups with the same publisher who vote for each other's books. There's a few of them on this list unfortunately.

message 42: by Starrynight (new)

Starrynight Is there a reason The Foxhole Court is on this list. It is not m/m book. It has a gay character in it. It is more a male bonding type book. It's a decent read, but there is no m/m in it what so ever.

Haven't read it myself so I'll contact one of the voters on my friends list and see why they added it. Some reviewers seem to think there will be a romance in the trilogy (books 2 and 3 not out yet). Did you get that impression?

Mandy, I got zero impressions of a romance in Foxhole Court. OTOH, on the author's blog she says: "But have I mentioned yet how aggravating it is getting this couple together? They work so much better this way, seriously, and I don't regret reshaping the books' relationships, but that third person was the instigator and driving force. Without him there to get things moving, it's just like oh my god you impossible assholes one chapter after another.

Slowest. Relationship. Ever. Le sigh."

So it sounds like a relationship in the next book.

message 45: by Mandapanda (last edited Apr 26, 2013 10:18PM) (new)

Mandapanda Thanks Kate. Looks intriguing.

Starrynight, maybe we can give the author the benefit of the doubt and leave the book on the list until we see where the series goes :)

I didn't get the impression that there was going to be a romance type relationship. I didn't even get that the three main characters are gay. It just doesn't come up. It was a interesting story and I am glad I read it. I only read it because it was on this list and it is free. At the end, I did go huh, why was it on best m/m books for 2013. If the next books goes in that direction, then I can understand why it is on the list. Thanks everyone.

message 47: by Dacia (new)

Dacia Full Circle by Kaje Harper was published in 2011, but is currently on this list

LJ Rhys Ford's Dirty Laundry is on the list twice.
