Angela Bee Bee I got 13 for slave boy?

message 8: by Gigi (last edited Jul 31, 2013 04:12PM) (new)

Gigi Added 2 Slave Boys. Mia Watts' She's Got Balls and Raising Seth by Eden Cole. I don't know the names you have for the other boys. Oh and there are at least 2 or 3 grey shirt boys. :)

Super fun list!

great ads. I think slave boy wins.

message 10: by Gigi (new)

Gigi We need to name them, because I really think this guy will win:

I haven't even scratched the surface of my M/M library yet! I love shit like this!

message 11: by Angela Bee Bee (new)

Angela Bee Bee you can name them when you add them. Why don't we call that guy 2 pack with side burns? I can't count that well from my kindle fire.
I think shaggy might be up there with slaveboy

message 12: by Elizabetta (new)

Elizabetta Slave boy has been around for hella long days. Like Gigi, I haven't had time to search through all my back-reads but I'd guess he's on many more.

This is a great list :)

Angela Bee Bee Stronger in Your Hands (The Making of a Man, #3) by Diane Adams , also in home for the holidays, point of beginning, and I think he's not smiling in several others.

There is also intense close quarter guy who really needs a name.

message 15: by Elizabetta (last edited Jul 31, 2013 04:53PM) (new)

Elizabetta may be a good idea to number & name. For example:

#1/gray T-shirt guy = XX
#3/back guy = XX
#4/Slave boy = XX
...etc.

Then peeps will know who's who.

message 16: by Angela Bee Bee (new)

Angela Bee Bee the number changes with the votes. But we could have one master post keeping tally and just keep editing it.

I seriously think slave boy has like 4 poses. He totally confuses me.

message 17: by Elizabetta (new)

Elizabetta It confuses me why he's used so much. He's not particularly attractive. To me, anyway.

message 18: by SheReadsALot (new)

SheReadsALot hmm...I dubbed The Last Boyfriend (Forever Love, #1) by J.S. Cooper -Pensive Dude

message 19: by Angela Bee Bee (new)

Angela Bee Bee slave boy has that vulnerable twink look. I prefer zac ephron for such things. Lol. The only one i remotely find attractive here is grey t shirt. The rest are just ugg.

Super fun! I'll keep a list unless someone else picks up the ball!

message 25: by Angela Bee Bee (new)

Kendra Does anyone else think that this guy is the shaggy haired guy just with some photoshopping done on his hair? Friday Night Jamie by Bren Christopher

message 38: by Angela Bee Bee (new)

Angela Bee Bee He looks very badly photoshopped, but i think he appears with shaggy guy a few times, but not him.

message 39: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper Kendra wrote: "Does anyone else think that this guy is the shaggy haired guy just with some photoshopping done on his hair? Friday Night Jamie by Bren Christopher"

I don't think that's shaggy haired smiling guy (my Tony from Life Lessons) - close but different.

Tony-guy is everywhere - I've had people report seeing him in tooth-product posters in their dentist's office. Part of the reason is probably that he has a ton of stock photo pictures, many of which are pleasant, attractive, varied expressions, not too posed, and not all naked. Reasonably-priced stock site pictures are a very mixed bag, and hot or even just attractive guys are not a dime a dozen. Hence the reuses. I once tried for fun to see how many covers I could find him on, and gave up after a dozen or so. (But to me he's still Tony :)

Chris at stumbling over chaos does her "Misadventures in Stock Photography" each week of duplicate guys. She told me she has about three pages of "Tony" accumulated for the day she decides to feature him.

I do have an awful lot of "Tony"... I just need to find a good name for him!

This list is going to be very, very useful for me. ;)

And here's a link to the Misadventures in Stock Photography, which is on post #170 since it started a few years ago.

message 45: by Chris (new)

Chris I have no idea how many posts of Slave Boy I've done - lots!

message 46: by Angela Bee Bee (new)

Angela Bee Bee Ok, I'll check it out.
Is there really is a shortage of free/cheap hot guy stock photos? Then why are the mf covers so much better?

message 47: by Chris (new)

Chris Angela wrote: "...Is there really is a shortage of free/cheap hot guy stock photos? Then why are the mf covers so much better?"

That's a really good question.

message 48: by Kaje (new)

Kaje Harper Probably budget - the sales of het romances are far higher - if you look at GR ratings numbers for top M/M versus het, it's about 10:1 There are other stock sites where the pictures cost far more that M/M pubs won't use because of the cost. Top het authors may get custom photos done. And the artists' time and skill is at least in part a matter of what you can afford. So M/M covers play with the limited selection on the cheap sites while not using more artist time than they can help. Also, there are a lot of het couple pictures available. In M/M if you want a couple together, most of the time you have to photoshop them because the actual two-men-together pictures are very limited.
