Ryan The Odyssey, The Iliad, War and Peace, Metamorphoses, Paradise Lost, Inferno, The Count of Monte Cristo, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Dorian Gray, Far From the Madding Crowd, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, and Madame Bovary are all not part of the Penguin Pocket Hardbacks. They are the Penguin clothbound classics.

Thanks for bringing this up - someone has added them to the list, but since they don't fit I'll take them off.

Douglas Beagley Can anyone comment on the binding/paper/quality, look and feel of this series?

I only have a few, but I consider them to be good quality. The covers and binding are solid, the paper seems to me to be of a good quality, and you can feel the slight indentations of the design on the cover. They come with a built-in ribbon bookmark like the Penguin Clothbound Classics. One thing I should note is that there is a kind of 'film' over the top third or so of the older editions (I think they've stopped doing this), which pales the colour scheme on that part of the book -- you can sort of see the impression of it here in the 'Letters from a Stoic', 'Meditations', and 'On the Nature of Things' editions. Whether you like this or not is a matter of taste. I carried one around with me for a few weeks and didn't find there was any wear on the cover design (which can happen quite easily with the bigger Penguin Clothbounds) and the book generally remained in very good condition. I've also given them as gifts and haven't heard any complaints.
