I just moved from Brooklyn, NY to Montgomery, AL. I wanted to build a library for my new (high school) classroom in Montgomery, but I didn't just want to fill it with teen novels―I wanted to build a library of books with a wide range of diverse voices and perspectives that counter the imperialist, white-supremacist, capitalist, patriarchal American perspective.
