Meyer's characters are not vampires; they are "pseudo vampires" or "failures in the vampire's genetical code". Also, Meyer doesn't even know what the bloody hell a dhampir is and she truly believes she created something new with Renesmeé. For me, The "Twilight" Saga is not a story about the sublime creatures I use to call "vampires".
