Hey, we're starting small, but let's get this list humming! If you belong to any New Zealand book groups (whether online or in person), how about promoting this list as well as promoting Good Reads? Good Reads for me is like Facebook for others :D and we need to stamp New Zealand on the map for a LOT of people...
I run another popular list for women born in the 1970s and it is into its sixth year but I decided, hey, why not a list for Kiwis to record their books read in a year? So here it is. Here are some dos and don'ts for this list:
Dos:
If you're a New Zealander, live in New Zealand, and/or were born in New Zealand, do add the books you've read in 2017 here. Just the books read in 2017 though, no other years. If you want to 'bookmark' this list, there are two ways to do it, either 'Like' the list and come back when you've finished a book, or make your first 'vote' the book that you are currently reading that you will definitely finish in 2017.
Do converse with other kiwis here by adding your (polite) comments at the bottom of the page.
Do help this list grow strong by inviting your fellow kiwis to add their 2017 books read here.
Don'ts:
Don't vote on this list if you are NOT a person either living in or born in New Zealand. We shouldn't have to ask this, but we've had numskulls who clearly can't read do this on other lists before. There are plenty of lists out there, vote there, don't vote here.
Don't self-promote or get a friend/colleague/publishing/marketing person to vote for your books simply because you want to promote them. We don't like it, won't tolerate it, and believe me it is the fastest way to NOT get your book read by list users. Don't be stupid.
Don't 'vote' by simply clicking in the columns of books read. Please click on 'Add Books To This List' and add only the books you've read in 2017 from your list of books read. This is important as we like to see what is the most popular edition of a book read - we want to know if you had paperback, hardback, ebook, audiobook and where it came from (all of which shows with each cover/ISBN you pick). Don't panic about there being 'duplicates' in the list, we go through regularly and amalgamate the duplicates with just the press of a button, and that way, the most popular edition will appear in the 'All Votes' list.
