If you're looking for more, all I write is Canadian Historical Fiction! My earlier three books are "Tides of Honour" (WW1/Halifax Explosion), "Promises to Keep" (Acadian Expulsion 1755), and "Come From Away" (WW2, Nova Scotia, U-boats, etc). :)

Historical fiction does not just mean an 'old' book...

I'm confused by your comment booklovinglady. No one said "historical fiction means an old book". Unless your comment was just one in general. It can definitely be a brand new book as long as the subject is Canadian historical fiction.

I noticed Bear (#16) on this list for instance, which was first published nearly 45 years ago (an 'old' book for some, as 45 years was a long time ago for some of its readers). But Bear is not historical fiction, as far as I remember anyway.

I agree fully that historical fiction can be a brand new book, by the way, as long as the subject matter is set in the not too recent past. But it doesn't automatically mean that an 'old' book is historical fiction just because of the date it was first published, as it might have been contemporary at the time of publishing. 'Old' books can be historical fiction though, take for example Ivanhoe by Walter Scott, or De lotgevallen van Ferdinand Huyck by Jacob van Lennep.

I am trying to find a book series I read as a kid, probably published between 1975-1995. I don't remember a lot from it, other than it was good. The main character was a young boy/man. One or more of the books in the series took place in Louisbourg, NS, during a great battle, probably in 1758. I remember Wolfe was a character. Later in the series he falls in love with a rich/powerful woman from Paris. I feel like he moves to other places in Canada. Surprisingly, I can not find a single thing about the series! Help!
