Hi John, I would love to know your rationale for including these books in such a list! Thanks, Rebekka

Hi Rebekka, This list was a brief attempt to start gathering together novels that tackle animal rights and environmental issues. It's a somewhat slanted list since I've written one of the books and published another, so I'd love to see additions and suggestions for more.
There are plenty of nonfiction books that tackle these issues but not many novels.
Hi again John I added a few courtesy of the articles at onegreeplanet.org (links below), which is interesting reading by the way, I had in fact not read any on the list but will most certainly be doing so now!

I would also be interested to read your book, can you tell me where I can get hold of a copy here in NL?
Hi Rebekka -- thanks for pointing out that article. I'm so happy to see the media paying attention to this growing genre. As a publisher (Ashland Creek Press), we've just this month published the first "vegan vampire" paranormal novel for young adults. It's called Out of Breath and it's by Blair Richmond. As for my book, are you in the Netherlands? If you can send me an email at jyunker@gmail.com I'll follow up with the best way to get the book.
Thanks!
You might want to check out eco-fiction.com and its database! It's a site I run, so will ensure I add some from your list that I haven't had the chance to yet.

We've been working on the text, illustrations and design for Protectors of the Wood 1&2, and are finally satisfied. We have both books available through Ingram Spark now, and have a manuscript and illustrations for Protectors of the Wood #3. In addition, the urgent problems of climate change have created more awareness and stress among the general public, so we're trying to speak out now in a more visible way. Thanks so much for your interest. Best wishes, John
Hi Mary: I realize that your message was not intended for me but for a different John, and somehow these messages were on my page. Just a bit of confusion. Best wishes,John KixMiller
Great list! Eco Reign, Warning: The Barriers burn hits both environmental themes and animal rights in the context of an alien invasion. The humans become "pets" and their treatment parallels, in some regard, the treatment of animals by humanity in today's world. There's also a de-extinction component to the book too. Thought I'd mention it for you to check out in case you wanted to expand the list! Kirkus Review gave it a star.
