Michael Spisak an excerpt from Full Circle, Chapter 24:

"...The Ancestors waited patiently, watching as their descendants are forced to live that hell. They wait, until Hell becomes accepted as normal and evil becomes accepted as common place. They watch, their grand children so completely lost to them. These same children given explicit instructions for return but the instructions ignored. No one capable of interpreting the instructions any longer.
The Ancients wait and watch as foreign invaders reign down devastation in less than 300 years. Wait and watch as the invaders turn a pristine utopia into a fetid pool of decay and the Ancients descendants become replica’s of the invaders. As these descendants wreak the same havoc and destruction upon each other. For millennia the Ancients exist watching as what was given so freely becomes a commodity where the greedy demand payment for what has never been theirs to sell..."

erin Wow, are exploitative authors abusing this list. I won't say anything about the GoodReads authors putting their own books on here, but at least let's stick to fiction, people. By or about Natives/First Nations people. Not your new age pseudowisdom. And Eckert Tolle? REALLY????

Wish these lists could be cleaned up. They'd be so much more useful to readers.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) Removed Isn't It Pretty To Think So?. Spam. Not recognizably Native American, nor award-winning or critically acclaimed.

Lisa A number of books with hardly any ratings have climbed to the top of this list... smells like sock puppets to me. Could a librarian possibly remove the books by Sheryl Seal, Murielle Cyr et al.?

I don't know much about this topic but can help out if you need. Would you be able to tell me what is wrong with these authors?
Happy to help :)

Dorian Wilmetter American Dishonor by B.A. Brittingham
In the summer of 1982 three factions emerge in Southwestern South Dakota. The first is the arrival of a large farming equipment company proposing to lease land for tests on a new type of seed corn. The second is the appearance of a White man looking for a new lease on life. And the third is the peculiar death of a small herd of bison on Thunder River Reservation. By the close of summer, local ranchers and farmers are up in arms, an FBI agent is killed bringing Washington DC into their midst and with the potential conflict of States’ Rights issues.

This is a fictional American Dishonor by B.A. Brittingham story focusing on the federal government’s long struggle with how American’s Indigenous people should be treated. It also delves into the warrior culture of both the Lakota Sioux and the US Marine Corps, as well as the crushing poverty that still haunts Indian reservations. There remains a glaringly difficult choice for many of our First People: live in poverty on the reservation, or surrender their ethnicity by melting into the life of the dominant culture.
