Oftentimes I see people who aren't voracious readers try to pick up the habit of reading, a noble cause. Unfortunately they often reach for the "greats", classics that are timeless and beautiful but can also tend to be tedious and difficult to crack into. It seems like readers feel as if their choices are Twilight or The Sound and the Fury. Read one to have fun, the other to be an intellectual. But that is not so! There are so many great, thought-provoking, expertly crafted books that are fun to read, make you laugh, and don't require a B.A. in English.
