is that not erasure though if the characters are black though?? like i get the purpose but if they're still black it's like your deleting a part of their identity. could just be me though and i'm not trying to throw shade!

No it's erasure by putting them in the same category as black people. Biracial people are equally of that other race. Biracial is two races! They are in their own category where there are equally able to claim both. Black people cannot claim other. Think about it would you call someone with a white mom and a black dad a white person? Probably not but your using the same reasoning to call them black.

yeah, i totally get what you mean. though, i do think with your question black and white could be used interchangeably - but again i could be wrong.

But that's not a contemporary romance it's a fantasy story. This list is for contemporary romance not fantasy stories that had a romance in them

Thank you. I'm using the list to track which YA books released were contemporary romances with black leads since there's so few released. Last year I could only name 2 books even when I had authors try to help me.
