Immigration can be a complicated topic to discuss with your children, but it is important for them to know about the lives of kids just like them--who happen to be in complicated and dangerous circumstances that warrant their need for asylum. These children are more than just the label of immigrant or refugee; each individual comes from a different background with a different set of circumstances. Kids In Need of Defense (KIND) has teamed up with Strand Book Store to share a list of fiction and non-fiction books for kids from 0-18 that deal with immigration and refugee themes so that your child--and you--will have a better understanding of the faces behind immigration.
