I know :/ but I don't think they were when they were added.

Some of the are technically in a series, but they really tell their own story and that's that. Like The Giver; there are other books in the series, but they really have nothing to do with each other. And with The Host, Meyer has been talking about sequels almost since the first came out but so far not even a sneak peak. I'm just gonna leave those types on for now.

I checked for duplicates and 3 were found and removed.

Removed Unwind, Princess Academy, and Hatchet.

Yes! Thank you! I noticed that when they were added but I couldn't remove them. So thank you!

♥ Marlene♥ But if you allow one book your list will be like the other list where it says stand alones but half of the books are from a series. Looking at this list this is a great one. The Host it should not even have a part one net to it cause it has been published for years and there is not a book 2. Only one I wonder (first 100 books) besides The Giver is To say Nothing of the dog. A second book?

message 6: by Gwen (new)

Gwen Unfortunately I can't delete books from the list : /

All the series here (but the Host, which Meyer promises will be part of a trilogy but at this point who the hell knows if it'll ever happen) are a series of Standalones. That means each books is a finished and closed book on its own, and the next book deals with different characters - usually side characters from the first book or something along those line. So it's like a series of different stories set in the same world. That's why, I think it's totally okay personally :)

message 8: by Zorak (new)

Zorak They all do technically tell their own story, but for me personally, a standalone is a book that is not a part of a series whatsoever. Maybe I'm wrong. Just what I think :D

Well, as far as I'm concerned you're not wrong, because I feel exactly the same way :-) So if you're wrong, that makes at least two of us :-D

WillowRaven Hi!

#41 - Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, #1) - is part a series, and not a stand alone book.

#219 - Carry On (Simon Snow, #1) - is part of a series, and not a stand-alone book.

Zorak wrote: "They all do technically tell their own story, but for me personally, a standalone is a book that is not a part of a series whatsoever. Maybe I'm wrong. Just what I think :D "

I completely agree!! Not to mention, in the list description it says "No trilogies, sagas, cycles, or series...."

Nitzan wrote: "That means each books is a finished and closed book on its own, and the next book deals with different characters - usually side characters from the first book or something along those line. So it's like a series of different stories set in the same world."

However, that is not a common thing. By and large, when you have a trilogy or series (etc), it is a continuation of the story from prior book(s). That being said (and the fact of the list description at top of page), none of the books from a trilogy, series (etc) should be included on this particular list. At least that's my view and understanding of how this list is being defined.

You can ask a Librarian and/or someone with Librarian status to help you with that. They have a running thread for requests:
