Removed Fateful Destiny: An Epic Struggle to Change the Course of American History (debut author spamming numerous lists through sockpuppets/alter egos).

The system will not allow me to add it."
Probably because the audio CD was published on September 3rd 2019 ?

Might be that the original publication date is not filled in?

I don't 'fix' books I haven't read...

girl calm down, you don't have to go attacking ppl like that. damn.
I'm trying to add The Civil War on Filmby Peg A Lamphier, Rosanne Welch but the list won't allow it even though the book was published in 2020.

If you don't get a response on this one soon, go to the librarian's thread and list it there. You need a super-librarian for this (meaning a GR employee, not just a humble volunteer like me.)

Try it again ... (I added some things)

Thanks a bunch :) ! It worked.
Umm, I am trying to add Kurangaituku by Whiti Hereaka, which was published in 2021, but it won't let me. It says it wasn't published in this time frame.

I recommend you go to the librarian's thread and report this, and be sure to include the ISBN number. Sadly, we volunteer librarians don't have the capability, so you need a GR employee to fix this.

Posterity is the greatest of filters, you know, the wheat from the chaff and whatnot.

Nobody’s forcing you to look at contemporary lists or to comment there.
It’s not the first list (neither the second) I found some kind of negative, even borderline inappropriate comments from you that have absolutely nothing to do with the list content nor it’s theme and by now I am extremely tempted to flag all future ones so GR employees can decide if we have to bear with those.

ha. You are a paragon of sensitivity, Madam.
(I may be negative, at times, but i am never inappropriate..)

ha. Yes, well i would hate to think that my aversion dooms anyone to a life of impecunity, all cheap laptops and cold garrets.
(i will pledge to buy a few modern books then, as a show of goodwill to the living).

I mean "On Reading the Old Books" was what convinced me, and it was a modern book.
Distrust is fair. But I still interact with everyone I distrust. I just judge them based on those whom I trust.

Not to even mention senselessly depriving ourselves of excellent books, and for what? To satisfy a troll?
The system found and removed 7 duplicates.

Well yes, that too. It is hard to filter your own era without the clarity of classics for a lens. But gems we do have in our own era. The Road, for instance, I didn't just love, but needed the year my father passed.
Is it possible that the algorithm only counts books that has been translated to English as "published during the decade" - a lot of books I tried (that were definitely published in the 2020s) were rejected...

You can post some examples, and I will double check for you.
Under the genre, it should say something like this:
243 pages, Hardcover
First published April 26, 2022
If it doesn't have first published, I can add it.
Naomi wrote: "Iamthesword wrote: "Is it possible that the algorithm only counts books that has been translated to English as "published during the decade" - a lot of books I tried (that were definitely published..."Ah, I think that those books don't have a "first published", because it's the first edition anyway. That might be the reason.
So here is the list [()=first published]:

Thank you
I have also encountered books published in 2023 and 2024 that it says we’re not published during this decade and therefore cannot be added. Books originally published in English.
Steve wrote: "I have also encountered books published in 2023 and 2024 that it says we’re not published during this decade and therefore cannot be added.
