"We have always been here" I listened on audio book though the New Brunswick Public Library system! Nice memoir from a perspective rarely heard. Not sure it will hold up beside the others in this.
Also listened to "Through the Ashes" from our Public Library as well. This was a truly revealing book. Whenever you think you know and understand something enough, reading always reminds you how little you know. 2.07 books in and I think this is a contender. Deals with Indigenous issues., drug abuse/opioid issues, substance abuse in general, education, social services, middle canada, the list goes on.
I hope the fiction reads involve less trauma tbh and a bit more fun from the fiction to balance the list. But I appreciate the poignant nature of the subject matter.
Happy reading all!
