Spam books will be deleted. The current #2 (Fateful Destiny: An Epic Struggle to Change the Course of American History) is a spam book (see the voters and the many other lists they have added this book to).
I reported the author and his sockpuppets/alter egos to Support yesterday, hopefully they will do something about it.
The current number two book, While I Have You, appears to be spam.Same group of three people voting this title onto multiple lists.

Anyone else get excited when they find themselves actually ahead of schedule on your personal book challenge for the year? I'm ahead by 1 book right now! (22 out of 80 pledged)

I am ahead by 4 books at the moment which is great because sometimes I have a month or two were I read almost nothing at all, but I am aiming to actually try and reach my goal before December and hopefully go over it a bit :)

That's great! I hope you can keep it up.
I'm a teacher, so my reading is never consistent. I go long stretches with no books, then I'll polish off a bunch in succession. I always feel vaguely guilty when I get behind XD.
My favourite read this year was Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 25th Anniversary Edition: An Update of the 1997 Classic. Of course, I may be biased because I am a contributor! :)
