Wonderful! I've put one on, but will be back with more.

Ah thanks so much babe. I will ask some friends if they like to vote on both of the lists as well.
The list for all the books we've read this year is the one Marlene links to in the first post, Cindi. This list is for our favorite books that we've read this year.
Wow. 6 That is quite a lot Cindi. 6 in 20 days. You can add those 6 books to the other list, see the link. That is the one where you add all the books you have read in 2012. Thanks for voting all.!
I've read 7 now. hehe I haven't added anything to this list yet because none of them are favorites. Although the new Dexter book was pretty darn tooting good. ;)
Thanks for voting. Aha I see a book I am going to check out. forbidden. I am reading a YA novel right now but it is not going to be on this list. Shatter Me. (the writing annoys me so much) over the last few weeks I've been reading a lot of young adult books. some of them are very good.
Looks like I might have to read that one... everyone seems to love it.
Hayes wrote: "Looks like I might have to read that one... everyone seems to love it."Yes. Not just the King fans. I do not know if you are normally a Stephen king reader.
No, I'm not. I don't like horror/thriller/supernatural stuff, so most of King is out for me. I have managed to avoid it like the plague.
It wasn't horror, more historical fiction with a smidgeon of magic. I'm with Judy, a great read is what it was.
I did not check this list for a while to discover we have 22 voters now. Last time we had 11. Just read a great book that made me cry,cry cry like a little child.I prefer when books make me laugh. I am not very quick to laugh reading books or cry so this one was special. The Knife of Never letting go.
yes. I can add another book to this list. Sorry again the same genre but I am so in the mood for dystopian YA books I can't stop reading them. lol. Unwind. very very good. it even shocked me so maybe this is not really for young kids. I see we have 4 more voters. thanks!
I see that the Diane Chamberlain book is on the third place! I do have a copy of this book on my kindle so I must give it a try. Just read my first book by her. The Confessions of a Midwife.Question. do you guys only add books that you gave 5 stars or do you also add 4 star books?
Oh wow! I see we have reached 100 books!! Yay! thanks for voting. I love getting to see what you guys have read and loved.
I have added a few 3 stars, if I think it's a valid beginning to a series, for example. But also 4 stars. I haven't read too many 5 star books this year.
ETA: but I'm going to limit myself to 9 books, so some will come off the list as I read others which I think are better.

Aha Hayes. that is also a good strategy. Why 9 though? not 10? ;) I was just able to add another 5 star book. Columbine. it was so good!
I am *knocks wood* having a brilliant reading year, for the most; clocked up some stunners an here's hoping it will continue. Thanks for both lists, ladies.

9 = 3x3 = one digit number... don't know why 9.

Just finished Before I go to Sleep. Loved it. A 5 star book and I of course added it. I highly recommend this one as I do Defending Jacob. Just noticed we already have 3 pages!
yes I think so to Susanna. I just finished a book I enjoyed from start to finish. I gave it 5 stars because I enjoyed it so much. Its been too long and does not happen often enough this year. That a book captivates you from page 1 till the end. Left Neglected by Lisa Genova was that for me.
Susanna wrote: "No, Smilner, it is for the favorite books that people over 35 have read this year."Got it. I read the list as it might be as you explained, but that was not my first 'take,' based on other lists that are 'just' for say best books of 2012. I do like that there are lists for older folks. I know my reading genera are much different than many in their early 20's it seems. Maybe 'we' can populate some further categories for readers over 35 yrs old - this one certainly has a lot of variety & entries on it. I know in other 'groups' I have belonged to, it helps often to branch off in age groups - ie hip replacements for folks under 30 yrs - that was a biggie difference vs. talking to ones who were 72 and 75 getting a hip done! Ditto when it comes to books.
There's another one for all the books the over-35s have read this year: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/15... , as well.
Hi there. Have not been ere for a while. I just added a few books. I did decide to also add 4 star books cause if I give them 4 stars I really liked them.very happy to see we have 5 pages now.
S You mean make a list for people over 35 but under 55? something like that? Or favourite YA books o no we have so many YA lists, and they would be the same as the other YA lists I guess. Rolls eyes) favourite chick lit, horror, you name it lists for the over 35's?
I think it's the book Zombie Room which has appeared on 25 thousand lists, including the Over 35s 2011 list... too bad the book was written in 2012. ;o)
Hayes wrote: "I think it's the book Zombie Room which has appeared on 25 thousand lists, including the Over 35s 2011 list... too bad the book was written in 2012. ;o)"yes. I just read about it in the comments on your list. Then I visited the Badly behaving authors list. I voted but after a second I decided to remove the votes. Those authors will do anything to get their books out there on lists. Negative or positive, and I do not want to abide to them.
9 people voted for it. hmmmm How can I see if it is fishy hayes?
ETA: first person has voted for 2 of this authors books only, on many lists.
second person the same thing. She added a bit more books, 2 but on all lists and they are many 2 of his books.
OMG. 9 pages of all the lists she voted for the zombie book!. I never knew people would take out so much time to push a book.
Third person exactly the same pattern. Votes zombie book on all lists he or she can.
I wonder will one of those 9 voters be genuine?
Okay I did check all the people that voted for that book. All of them with no exception have added the same 2 books by the same author to so many lists, 8 to 10 pages long that I have decided to delete it. I don't mind if a book all of a sudden climbs high in the top 20 but I like it to be fair.
I assume that it's people that voted for something and changed their minds? Not sure, just know it happens sometimes.
Lots of good books on here. I'm keeping all my YA reads off, since I see those on EVERY LIST. But I have plenty of grown up reads that I loved this year too.
A new 'Favourites' list for 2013 in the works? [please????]I'd grovel with chocolate but it would melt before it even left New Zealand and it is rather heavy to send...

that!
:O)
This is an excellent list. I'm not yet 35, but I'm only a few years away. Nonetheless, I bookmarked this list so I could refer to it next time I'm looking for something to read.
Hi there. I had totally forgotten that this one would end. is there a way I can close this one from voting?Oh well. I will start a new one for 2013! yay
Brittany B Glad to hear you like this list. :)
I don't think so, Marlene, unfortunately.
This one is Marlene's list, so she can decide.
