This list is only for books of fiction, poetry and philosophy. No non-fiction books about animals or the environment please.
Books on this list should not only focus on the extrahuman but should also show a marked disinterest or even disregard in the interactions, activities, traits and needs of humans.
Good criteria to follow when considering whether a book could be on this list:
- No main character(s), few or no named human characters at all.
- Little to no dialogue between humans.
- Objects (animals, plants et c) in the book are not anthropomorphized (act or speak like humans)
- May be, but is not necessarily, environmental fiction though books whose primary focus is to makes an argument for environmentalism or to change human behavior (though they are very important) should not be added.
