Listopia > Psychological Xenofiction
Stories at least partially written from an alien perspective.
Goodreads has many lists for books with nonhuman protagonists. This one is intended to be much more restrictive. Some things that do not belong here:
* Humanoid robots or androids
* Vampires and werewolves
* Aliens that are basically just quirky humans, as in Star Trek
* Mentally humanized animals, as in Watership Down
For purposes of this list, origin and physical characteristics of the narrator are irrelevant. Modified humans, extraterrestrials, Lovecraftian horrors - all are fair game. What matters is that the author has made effort to write from the perspective of an alien mind (realistic neurodivergence does not count). There's something psychologically strange about the narrator, such that the writing can be confusing to the human reader, at least initially.
For a short, free example of what this list is aiming for, read "The Things", by Peter Watts.
