Apocalyptic thinking pacifies us into waiting to be "saved" and/or to make it to the "next world" (whether in space or in heaven). It prevents us from living fully in the present, from seeking solutions to our problems here, now. This list asks for NON-FICTION books that explain, describe, direct, exemplify ways of living that are NOT apocalyptic, that see more than the end of everything. (So, obviously, no religion, no fiction.)
