Ethan this series looks promising

Ranjani Kulawardhana I really can not understand the popularity of this series, and why they are the recommended AR books. My 7 year old read the entire series and he like them. But, we found many great books that were written before 1990s which are the real world stories. These books may be exciting but completely out of the real world happening and the readers are taken to their imaginary world. Nothing in these books can not explained using science, nature or the reality, which is the most frustrating fact for me. When we were kids, we used to read adventure series like secret Seven, Famous five, Little house series, and many more. We can live with the memories in those books because they are real and are close to our lives and imaginaries, not as crazy as these. can anyone pls explain why these books are recommended for the kids and why these good old books are discarded or neglected?
