message 33: by Prabhat (new)

Prabhat Ranjan I fail to understand why girls of adolescent age in India read Twilight Saga which is full of horror and without any moral or ethics. In fact American writer like Stephanie has no idea about the content which should be allowed for premature mind. What they are getting from this ? Thrill ! Love with a girl and vampire, love story and kidding also.
In our Indian context , this type of literature will spoil the ethical value of children of adolescent age in general and girls in particular.
Prabhat Ranjan

FIrst it really isn't her fault she put out a rating on the books and movies and if you decide to read or watch them then she is guilt free, besides there amazing books. i barely read any of these books on this list but I'm gonna start reading the hush hush book(s) because people say it's really good thanx so much for all the books and if you have any others please let me know :)

Katie I'm amazed at this list's....quality.

Scroll.

Tell me how many non-white girls you see. How many non-magic/supernatural based stories which don't deal with catty HS settings. Where is Sharon Flake (Money Hungry, etc.) ? Sharon Draper (Tears of a Tiger, Battle of Jericho)? Coe Booth (Kendra)? Paul Langan (Bluford)? Jacqueline Woodson (Brown Girl Dreaming)? Sandra Cisneros (House on Mango Street?) Octavia Butler (Kindred)? Kalisha Buckhanon (Upstate)? Nalo Hopkinson (The Chaos)? Sherri Smith (Flygirl)? Rainbow Rowell (Eleanor and Park)? Julie Kagawa (The Immortal Rules)? Sangu Mandanna (The Lost Girl)?

Seriously.
