Well, it's actually quite hard to define this general term.
Alright, I'll just give you a short explaination of what my idea of true love is.
It is when they are truly serious about their relationship; care deeply for each other;
restrain themselves for the other's good; never think of anyone else but that person, a half of their soul; and if something happens, they will bear the pain and the memory for the rest of their life, or at least for a very very long time.
I know it's too idealistic, but we're talking about books, aren't we? Therefore I hope to read the best true love stories, even though my friends and family never forget to remind me how unrealistic it is.
I'm always glad to find new books to read, so please do add your books to this list. Just one request, please be careful on choosing which books to add. I've seen lists which are quite a mess with non-related books added to make a very long list that makes my eyes hurt to read.
Thank you for visiting this humble list of mine.
P.S. There's no restriction to only romance genre. A fantasy or any other book with a love story on the side is just fine, as long as it is a good love story.

I don't think that Cathy and Heathcliff fit the definition above. They were not truly serious about their relationship as they married other people. They sure didn't restrain themselves. There was some love there but a very destructive kind and not the kind described above as true love. They should be on a destructive love list.

The friends-to-lovers plot is a familiar trajectory, in fiction and in life. It’s a path to good times! And bad times. And, as many can attest,...
Anyone can add books to this list.
