Listopia > Ship based- Military Science Fiction with FMC
Ok I love military science fiction with a strong heroine, but I felt like the lists don't focus on the ones I am trying to find. So if a book/series meets most if not all these requirements then please add!
-Strong, clever heroine soldier in the military (no space mercenaries or traders) that can be starting her career or not. But she has to be military (officer, marine, or etc). If she is underestimated and prove people wrong later, all the better. She doesn't have to be perfect soldier but she does have to be capable.
-SCIENCE FICTION! meaning the ship she is on is in space and be the series primary environment/ battle weapon.
-little to no romance, i do not want that to be the main plot. Its a military science fiction thus it is mostly action and development/career advancement of the FMC.
-I am hoping for a series but one offs are okay too.
-No FMC cyborgs or equivalent
-first in series only please
This is all that come to mind but for reference think of series like "Theirs Not To Reason Why" by Jean Johnson, "Galaxy Unknown" by Thomas DePrima, "Vatta's War" by Elizabeth Moon, "Alexis Carew" by J.A. Sutherland, and etc. A capable female soldier in the space military who does everything she can to beat the odds, take care of her crew, and protect the people under her care.
