January: Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

February: Emma by Jane Austen
Emma Woodhouse is a charming, witty, and self-assured young woman in the early 19th century who finds herself entangled in the love lives of those in her village, leading to various romantic misadventures.

March: Atonement by Ian Mcewan
Set in World War II, this novel follows the story of a 13-year-old girl, Briony Tallis, who commits a crime she aims to atone for the rest of her life. Briony must navigate the difficulties of guilt, love, war, and trust in her pursuit of redemption.

April: The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Aibileen and Minny are two black maids working in the South in the 1960s when a Southern white lady, Skeeter, an aspiring writer who has recently returned to her hometown, makes a daring proposition that may disrupt the lives of everyone in town. The unlikely trio are brought together as change, hope, and family unite the town.

May: All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Guided by patriotism and propaganda, a young German soldier signs up to fight in the war and faces the physical and emotional horrors of life in battle. Moving and haunting, the life of a young soldier is vividly depicted in this novel.

June: Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
Kya Clark is a young girl who lives in the marshlands, often misunderstood and isolated from others due to her upbringing and naturalist lifestyle. Yearning for love and affection, Kya is drawn to two young men when, suddenly, she becomes a suspect in one of their murders.

July: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
The Manderley, a brilliant estate of a wealthy widower, Maxim de Winter, becomes home to his new bride, the second Mrs. de Winter. However, as she settles in, she unravels the mysteries surrounding the death of his first wife, Rebecca, whose influence in the estate remains prominent.

August: The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Lily Owens is a young girl who longs to connect with her late mother, with only a blurred memory of the day of her death. Finding her way back to the town of her mother’s past, Lily meets a trio of black beekeeping sisters who introduce her to the world of bees as she uncovers the power of belonging, sisterhood, and resilience.

September: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Set in Nazi Germany, a young girl finds a book hidden in the snow that leads to her love for reading and begins to steal books from anywhere she can find. However, when her foster family takes in a Jewish person to hide, her world is turned upside down as she navigates her love for reading surrounded by death.

October: It by Stephen King
A group of friends are drawn back to their hometown, Derry, where they must confront a never-ending nightmare and ancient evil that continues to haunt them and the entirety of the town.

November: Before I Go to Sleep by S. J. Watson
Christine, a woman with amnesia, wakes up with no memory of her identity and life. Struggling to piece together the truth about who she is, she begins to uncover the dangers and deception surrounding her and must question who she can trust.

December: Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly
An inspiring true story depicting NASA’s African-American female mathematicians whose contributions were often overlooked due to their colour, race, and gender despite their crucial role and contributions to the space program.
