When it comes to American Regionalism, it's all about Southern Lit., and they have the accolades to back it up. Still, there's an identifiable regionalism of the North that deals with industrialism, winter, stoniness of landscape and temperament, the Canadian Border, migration from the South, rapid political and economic change, and struggles against a land that is not known as being fruitful. What books would you put in a pantheon of Northern Literature?
