This list is for my childfree bookworms who like their books pregnancy- and baby-free, to help you know what NOT to read. What book SEEMED good until it hit you with that PREGNANCY/BABY/MOMMY vibe?
To be clear, I don't consider the mere presence of one or more sub-adult characters enough to mommyjack a book. When I'm asking if a book should be on this list, I'm asking questions like:
1. Does it start with a seemingly childfree premise/characters and then betray you?
2. Is pregnancy and/or baby stuff pervasive in the story?
3. Does one or more characters have baby fever?
4. Does it promote the idea that all women are meant to be mothers or those who opt out are deficient/defective?
5. Does it hit you with a surprise BABIES happily ever after ending or epilogue?
USE NOTE: Because this list can't be sorted or searched, the easiest way to use it if you want to avoid these books is just to go down it and put every book on it on your personal NOPE shelf.

I briefly put Call the Midwife on the list even though I loved it, but then took it off again after some thought. The idea of being mommyjacked is that it's an unwelcome surprise when you thought you were going to be reading a childfree book, and you can't crack the cover of Call the Midwife without knowing what's coming. If you're mad about the pregnancy and babies in that book, well, you walked into it with eyes wide open.
