Books read, seen, and mentioned in season 1 of Gilmore Girls.
There are many movies referenced by the girls based on books, I will not be including these books since the reference is to the movie. ie Rosemary's Baby - this reference in episode 1 is to the movie - Ruth Gordon is an actress, Dean says "That's a great a movie".
There are also many mentions of certain authors without specific books mentioned, so I'd prefer not to include books by those authors - specific mentions only! :)

So glad someone thought of this! Great job on the list.But what about A Streetcar Named Desire? I recently started the show and remembered that it was referenced.

ooh, I probably wasn't familiar enough with it to catch the reference, or thought it referred to the movie since actresses are mentioned. But it works since it's mentioned a few times - I'll add it. Thanks!

I'm slowly making my way through this list maybe I'll be done by the end of the year? I've read a few of them on this list... and will NOT be reading the Oxford diccionary! hahaha, thanks for the liiiist!
Amanda, is "Pollyanna" in any of these lists? I looked for, but did not find it. It is also mentioned in the series, right?

There's a button for it at the bottom of the list, slighlty above the text "PEOPLE WHO VOTED ON THIS LIST". Keeping track of it can then be done by clicking on "Lists I've Liked" in the menu at the top right hand side (menu is visible at any list and also when you click 'browse' at the top of the page and and choose 'lists').
@AmandaAre you sure about James Joyce's Ulysses by Stuart Gilbert ? Shouldn't it be Ulysses by James Joyce ?

I don't recall Pollyanna being mentioned, but if you come across it in the show, let me know! I definitely could have missed it.

Sorry I didn't see your comment until now, the cover in that episode matches the cover of the book by Stuart Gilbert, so that's what I was going off of. I thought it was Ulysses at first.

I looked at my original spreadsheet I created and I originally had it in Episode 8 when Dean meets Rory at the bus stop, but that is Pride and Prejudice. So maybe I added it at one point but then changed it to P&P! Northanger Abbey does show up in season 4 episode 4 - Rory reads it while people set up for the wedding.
