"Romantasy" genre books that are perfect for sad, lonely, sensitive girls to read while curled up in a window seat under a chenille blanket while occasionally glancing at the tear- I mean rain-streaked glass and thinking about the meaning(lessness) of life. (Some of these books coincidentally have spooky vibes, but this isn't predominantly a Halloween-season list. This is a list for non-snarky heroines who reluctantly follow in love but would rather be reading and petting their cat/dragon/favorite sweater.)

Please nominate books that have all or most of these characteristics:

- Fantasy world/setting (any level of magic/magical beings or speculative fiction such as steampunk) - REQUIRED

- Romance - any level of spice/steam is fine, but plot must contain at least some romance involving the main character, even if it takes a backseat to other types of action - REQUIRED

- Pacific Northwest in the fall vibes (rain, woods, grey skies, clouds, sweaters, indie music, wearing plaid, Sasquatch bumper stickers, hiking, bookstores, coffee)

- Sad/introverted/non-snarky female main character - optimists with lots of energy are not welcome here (as characters. You yourself, whoever you are, are welcome here.) If most of the dialog is sarcastic and combative, no thanks. Philosophers and lovers are invited to the party. Fighters and haters are not. Also, no manic pixie dream girls. If the MMC does more brooding than the FMC and she inspires him say yes to life with her spunk and quirky personality, that's a no. We want brooding LADIES who are also sweet, demure, meek, maybe going through depression, introverted, and not

- Melancholy, existential angst, philosophical musings

- Beautiful poetic writing, especially descriptions of wild landscapes, dead leaves, old buildings, and hearty stews

- If an entire series is qualified, just vote for the first one, unless a later book in the series uniquely/strongly meets the guidelines compared to the rest of the series. For example: New Moon by Stephanie Meyer - much more Sad Girl Autumn than all the other Twilight books.
