there are a LOT of awesome but not very happy books here. personally speak is like my life ometimes justi her problem.
What a haven of abuse and violence books.. Dealing in all my favorite subjects! I shall get started RIGHT AWAY :D
I am looking for a book supposedly based on a true story about a little girl named Ursula who was abused and neglected and died at a young age. I don't remember the name of the book or the author. I remember a few things about the book, such as the girl's (possibly fictionalized) name. The man of the house made her stand outside all day and would not let her use the bathroom, so she would eventually pee her pants and then be punished for it. Near the end of the book, she was tied down on the toilet for days on end. She eventually died from this horrific torture and neglect. If anyone recognizes this, please let me know.

Wait... I'm a little confused as to why "Midnight Sun", "Breaking Dawn", and "The Two Princesses of Bamarre" are on here. It makes absolutely no sense
Defiantely not the fun happy-time list! But the ones I've read have been good enough to stick with me unlike many of the lighter things I've read.
I don't really consider Mockingjay to be a story of abuse. I mean there is violence in the book definitely but I just don't consider it in the same type of abuse category as the other books. My guess is that it's just on this list because it's popular. I hate the way these lists are always distorted.
I know that bullying is a hot topic around the country and domestic is too somewhat. But what I dont understand is why Wounding Words by Hillary Thompson isnt on the list, maybe its because its a new release, I dont know. but I know that when I read it she spoke about all different forms of abuse, verbal, mental, physical, and emotional. Yet I see Twilight, The Hunger Games and other novels on this list.
I once read a YA book about a girl who ends up in a psych ward after her friend dies in her stable or something like that while the main Character watched(?), and then we learn that in actuality the main character was being raped in the stable and killed her abuser? Does this even remotely ring a bell for anybody bc I hate this mental block!!
