The "Officers Guidebook" has its own recommended reading list for officers; however, as a newly commissioned officer many of the aspects of military life, strategy, and psychological effects of combat environments are entirely new subjects to those direct commissioning (myself included). This list attempts to provide texts of interest for the GMO covering everything from military strategy to leadership to medical care in austere environments.
