I don't know if I should start Shatter Me now, because it's a big series or if I should first read The lord of the rings and then Shatter Me ?

Morwen The Lord of the Rings if you are in a mood for patience and quality. But you best go into it knowing it's a slow series and it's not made for quick gratification.
Shatter me.. I DNF that so I'm not the best person to find a reason to read it, honestly....

nika.ex.libris They are so different; it's hard to say what one wants— a slow, cozy adventure or a romantic utopia.

Keya If you need fast paced and a series to fly through - Choose Shatter Me and if you want that fantasy vibe and the cozy environment, something to read slowly while sipping a coffee, choose The Lord of the Rings.

I am so scared that I will not like Shatter me, it's a big series and when I start one I finish it, like I cannot do otherwise. I don't know what to do..

I passed almost a month reading the series that I'm into (a curse so dark and lonely) because it was very slow paced and the lack of action got me sleeping ! So I need something fast paced and with a lot of action rn !!

Many other people loved it... Personally i just couldn't... I didn't like the writing style at all, which is weird cause I loved This Woven Kingdom and the author is the same. But maybe you could ask people who are replying what they think is the things they preferred about Shatter me and a bit of the flaws that you have to be prepare for?

You might still love it, but if you are unsure and you are 'cursed' to committing to a series to the end even if you hate it, personally I would consider expanding your selection a bit to find something a bit more "safe" for your almost slump situation

LOTR is a must read, but it is very slow... I saw you were looking for something more dynamic. From your lists I'd recommend This Woven Kingdom instead of Shatter me, but that's my personal opinion 😊
