These are books of poetry that are accessible as opposed to artistically challenging. Some of the poems may deal with hard aspects of life but that's not where the majority of them dwell. They're books of poetry you can relax to, enjoy, reflect upon without an excess of effort or being dragged into someone else's (or the world's) troubles. They may be lauded literary works or not, popular or not. It's more the mood and accessibility that counts.
