The only two that I've ever really SOBBED with are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and The Book Thief.
i can be a very sensitive person and this may sound a little funny but i started to cry a little during new moon by stephanie meyer b/c bella had a fight with jacob.
I agree with The Giving Tree, and I would add A Day No Pigs Would Die. I had to read that in school, and it was really moving.
i'm a very sensitive person when it comes to movies and books! Alot of books have made me cry!
As a very young child, a book or short story, called "A Dog of Flanders" was heartbreaking to me, my parents were on a trip and I had my aunt and grandmother re read it to me, I guess hoping that the ending would change. It was part of a very large book of children's stories.
oh dreamland and kissed by an angel made me break down and cry for the first times while reading a book.
Why on earth isn't The Little Princess on this list??Although I concur with the majority of these. A lot of these I've never heard of!
A Thousand Splendid Suns by by Khaled Hosseini made me sob so hard. It's really sad and very painful.
Nicholas Sparks can seriously make anyone cry :) every book of his that i have read so far, have had me in tears by the time im don ereading.
Apologies, but Nicholas Sparks is too sappy to make my cry. I cried when I read aloud Of Mice and Men to my Grade 10's in class, they loved it and you could hear a pin drop when we finished it.I cried when I read Charlotte's Web aloud in our minivan last summer as we drove to Seattle.
I cried when I read To Kill a Mockingbird the first time I taught it and every time after that, and I remember crying when I read Where the Red Fern Grows, as a child.
Too much crying!
Seriously?? I had to read Of Mice and Men this past summer for my Honor's English class and it was the dumbest book i've ever read. Charlotte's Web is ok, and i have yet to read To Kill a Mockingbird, and Where the Red Fern Grows

"Use to make my mommy cry too...I don't have kids yet but I'm sure this is something I will have to read to them
books have really only made me tear up; they've never actually made me cry, but have made me feel so sad.
'where the heart is' is sad and over and over it makes me think of what selfishness can do to people. it turned willy jack into an inconsiderate man who left novalee all alone in a city she'd never in her life been to.
the twilight saga books have to be some of the worst ever written how they can make you cry is beyond! some books not on the list that have made me cry are Jonathan safran foerb Extremely loud and incredibly close amazing, The history of Love Nicole Krauss, Dry Augusten Burroughs, Lottery the fortunes and misfortunes of Perry L Crandall Patricia Wood. These books are not all the typical cliched stories such as the nicholas sparks books. They make you laugh too i recommend them all strongly. Also when I was younger I read a lot of Catherine Lim the Bondmaid that made me cry lots!

Atticus Finch is brilliant as was Gregory Peck even the film was brilliant!

Morgan wrote: "I've teared up in some books, but the only book that had me bawling was Walk Two Moons"i read that in 6th grade. im sorta going through same thing. no mother. havent seen her forever. but that was very sad.
I've read Where The Red Fern Grows when i was a child, and i remember sobbing uncontrollably over the ending. I still do. The story is told through the simple innocent voice of a young boy and it is a greatly moving book about the deep bond and pure friendship between the boy and his hunting dogs. 5 stars freely given.
It's the story of Liam Wallace, a praiseworthy and charismatic actor with a stunning but paradoxical career full of professional success and personal failures, returns to his native Scotland to attend a funeral after two long years being away. But going back is never easy. When he thinks he’s got control over his life after a dark period where he nearly reached rock bottom, he has to confront an event in his past which he has unsuccessfully tried to forget.During the inevitable sleepless night on his return to Callander, his father gives him an old box. Someone has left him a manuscript. It’s his life story but the ending has not yet been written.
From this moment on, his life takes an unexpected turns of events and a race against time begins in order to make up for lost time and find the person who has entrusted him the difficult task of writing the ending of that story. Amy MacLeod. On his journey to achieve this goal, he has to face a grievous challenge and the sometimes ugly truth of the Hollywood game. But he also finds that behind all this destiny gives him a chance to get back the only woman who believed in him.
This book will make you experience all kinds of feelings. This new writer has been a great surprise. The story has meant so much to me that right now I can't concentrate on a new one because I'm still thinking in You Write the Ending.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that it's a spanish edition, I don't know if the one in english already exists. I hope so because this is a story that everybody might read.
almost half of the books i read made me cry. I don't know why but I just sort of feel sad about the characters whenever they encounter struggles or something like that. The books of nicholas Sparks made me cry like crazy. Specially the 'A Walk to Remember'. It is such a wonderful book. And you will really learn a lesson from it.
Celine, I am sure You write the ending will make you cry as well. You won't be able to stop reading.
the book thief made me cry so hard!!! but mostly i just cry from movies. i also cried when sirius died in harry potter. and at the end of the outsiders.
ooooh, i also cried at the end of my sisters keeper. THE BOOK, not the movie, which totally butchered it.
i gotta say nicholas sparks writes the saddest stories sometimmes. i put ten books.. man i am sensitive
The last few Harry Potter books definitely made me cry! Why did everyone have to die?! I was bawling at Harry's Sacrifice in Deathly Hallows... until I realized there was more to the book XDBridge to Terebithia made me so sad. So did My Sister's Keeper. :'(
The Giver was sad, too. I cried reading this one, it's such a great book though.
I'm sorry, but the only reason I cried at The Twilight Saga was at the very end, for all the time I wasted reading that crap.
Night made me teary-eyed. We read this in school, though, so I held myself back (I'm good at that).
A lot of these I haven't read, though.
All the ones on my list I cried on..They should put Betrayed by P.C. Cast when Zoey witnesses Stevie Rae dying i cried my eyes out..
