The list author says: "While I've been a painter all my life, I've also written several children's books and my memoir, "A Gift from Brittany," was published last year. I've always been an avid reader and in many ways I was inspired by these rich and, in some cases, life-changing books that I return to from time to time."

This is a rather bizarre list, mixing romance and current popular, with truly classic books. I don't get it. Maybe it should be "books I liked". They don't merit "books I will never forget" in my mind. Or if this is just one person's opinion, which they are entitled to, why is it on Goodreads, as if many people voted on this list?

It's not that I have a good answer for that question, it's just that, all of the lists are made up of opinions.

There are hundreds of lists for everything...even for books with black and orange covers, or purple if you prefer..... LOL! don't take it too serious. Everyone has different opinions especially here on goodreads.

One of the books that cannot be counted as literature but does stick firmly in my mind is The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer. Another is Rule Britannia by Daphne du Maurier. Why? Absolutely no idea. They are just there, tucked away safely in my mind together with great books like Thackeray's Vanity Fair and Fielding's Tom Jones, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Margaret Laurence's 'Manawaka series', Alan Duff's Once were warriors trilogy and so on and so forth.
Oddly enough there are other very famous books where I only have a vague recollection of the contents, even though I know for sure that I've read them :-) So for me personally, "Books I Will Never Forget" fits the bill, so to speak, although probably not in the way the creator of this listopia meant :-).
book is now among my 'keep forever' books and a book I will gift to friends and family . So pleased to hear the book debuted on the New York Times Best Seller List. As each chapter unfolded I became more intrigued with the down to earth approach the author has for life subjects I really care about.
Since I forget most books very fast this is an important list for me. Some books stick in my mind forever but they are very rare. Sometimes I just remember a small thing about a book but it is very important for me. I think it is a wonderful list.
