These are the novels that best exemplify the mode of fantasy literature that I call 'Swordpunk' -- high action, a casual disregard for world-building and logic, silly capers and fun.

The Elric series has a LOT of world building. So does Lankhmar. The rules for what goes in Moorcocks universe remains consistent through out Elric, Hawkmoon, Corum, and even the Meta-temporal detective, when it's broken, it's given an in universe logic and purpose.
